RTÉ lyric fm is largely seen as a classical music station however it has expanded its remit to include other types of minority music and entertainment features.

St Ita’s Hospital Radio was the first radio station in Ireland to receive one of the new broadcast licenses when the Minister for Communications of the day introduced the broadcasting bill in the late 1980s. The station now operates from a modern studio with professional equipment in compliance with the criteria laid down by the Broadcast Authority of Ireland under a year licence.

Broadcasting to the Border Counties, Midlands and West, Shannonside Northern Sound broadcasts Local and National News, Agricultural News and Sports with a strong impetus towards talk and as always quality music.
