A team of twenty-five presenters are making programs covering a wide spectrum of perspectives, combining the best music, humour, chat, politics, local news, what’s on in Barcelona. Daily shows include the Full English Breakfast and Live at Five as well as popular weekly shows such as This Week in Catalan Politics, European Football Review and “How to be happy all the time” with stand up comic Rachel Arieef. After 19.00 the station is host to popular local DJ’s including Tres Manos and the Track Family who play a mix of the latest house tunes and disco classics. Why “Monster Radio”? Everyone has a nickname. Ours is “Monster Radio”. We chose “monster” because we’re a pop music station, and we wanted to give listeners an idea of the hugeness, the impact, the appeal of our programming. RX 93.1 gives you the monster hits, the monster events, the monster talent. Why “RX 93.1”? This has something to do with our history. We inherited the call letters “RX” from the station’s former owners, and they chose them to indicate that RX music is “prescription music” – just what the doctor ordered. Rated eXcellent, so to speak. Still holds, doesn’t it? :)

Radio Gibraltar has been The Rock’s local radio station for over fifty years. Launched in 1958, it provides news and entertainment 24 hours a day. Since 2001, Sacred Heart Radio has brought Catholic programming to the area 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Beginning with one station (WNOP, Newport’s famous “floating radio station”) and two employees, Sacred Heart Radio now operates several AM stations at the 740 frequency.
