WORT Community Radio

We are Brisbane’s Youth Community Radio Broadcaster providing opportunities to young people and students seeking experience in the media industry. Our volunteers are of all ages and abilities, who develop great self-esteem and communication skills whilst also serving the community. We provide engaging and empowering opportunities for young volunteers and prepare them for future career opportunities in media and business. Over the years, Brisbane’s Youth Radio has seen a number of its volunteers go on to both commercial television and radio positions all around the country such as with the ABC, Southern Cross Austereo, Nova Entertainment and Channel 7 just to name a few. If you’re studying Journalism, Marketing, Media, Music, Audio Engineering, I.T, Business, Law or Accounting, Brisbane Youth Radio is where you want to be to gain real world experience and meet like minded people.

As North America’s only South Asian owned and operated FM radio station, CMR represents the growing ethnic voice of the Greater Toronto Area.CMR serves as a forum for debate, discussion and exchange of community, local, national and international news, events and culture.CMR also provides an important component of cross-cultural programming in English to bring together members of a large number of ethnic communities to discuss common issues and build cultural awareness.

Austin Community Radio, Inc. operating as KAZI 88.7 is the oldest community station in Austin. The station is a listener-supported, non-commercial community radio station, staffed almost entirely by volunteers who work together out of a sense of commitment and concern for our community.

WERU provides programming that is diverse, engaging, surprising, alternative, worldly and local. WERU's sound is made possible by volunteer power, listener support and community participation. We offer diverse music and cultural programming, alternative news and community-centered public affairs programming. We are an independent and locally owned and operated community radio station, offering noncommercial programming to, for and by people living in our broadcast service area in Eastern and Central Maine.

As a free-form radio broadcaster, we are committed to providing quality alternatives to the mainstream commercial programming that dominates the radio. Our DJs, Public Affairs hosts, and other staff members are not only Carnegie Mellon students, staff, and faculty, but also community members from the Pittsburgh area, some of whom have more than 30 years of radio broadcasting experience under their belts. We pride ourselves in our substantively diverse programming. So whether you’re interested in West African rock, kitchen sink recordings, local independent news programming or Latin American culture, WRCT has a program for you.
